Happy Lunar New Year!

Hello, Bellas.

We hope you’re having a wonderful week.

January marks new beginnings and celebrations, and at BellaVita, we enjoy embracing the traditions of other cultures. One of those is the Chinese Lunar New Year.

The Lunar New Year marks the first new moon of the lunar calendar and is derived from 12 complete moon cycles. It is traditionally celebrated by many Asian communities, including Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.

There are 12 Chinese zodiac animals and one is associated with each 12-year cycle. This year’s celebration is associated with the Rabbit, and it begins on January 22, 2023.

In the Chinese zodiac, rabbits were born in 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951, and so on.

They are the fourth animal in the Chinese zodiac, and in Chinese culture, are known to be the luckiest of all the twelve animals. The rabbit symbolizes peace, mercy, elegance, and beauty.

That said, this year's rabbit is meant to bring about patience and is a great year for building strong relationships networking, and building upon relationships.

Each year also has an element — water, fire, metal, and wood. This year, we celebrate the Water Rabbit.

Last year we experienced a water tiger, which made the tiger calm and less fierce. This year, water will contribute to its introspection and sensitivity.

This year, we’re celebrating Lunar New Year with our friend, Chester the Dutchie, a rescue bunny who loves all things cruelty-free, including BellaVita products!

We are proud to be a completely cruelty-free company that keeps rabbits safe from animal testing at every stage of our production.

To learn more about what cruelty-free is and how to determine if a brand is cruelty-free or not, read our blog post titled, “Cruelty-free or not".

The 2023 lunar year is all about "letting go," per Horoscope.com. This includes decluttering your space and mind, releasing yourself from toxic relationships, or cutting ties with ideals that do not align with you.

Happy Lunar New Year, Bellas! We hope its a good one.
