It makes my day to spend a bit of time with you, diving into one of the most overlooked yet essential aspects of skincare—the power of simplified formulas.
When choosing the right skincare product, one of the most important things to consider is the number of ingredients it contains. Why, you ask? Because every formula can only be 100% of ingredients, and how that 100% is allocated matters.
Take a moisturizer, for example. Its base is often a blend of water and oil, which typically makes up at least 75% of the final product. This leaves just 25%—or less—for the active ingredients, preservatives, and stabilizers. While some actives may work perfectly at low percentages (think 1–2%), others need to be present at higher concentrations (like 5–10%) to really make a difference.
So, when a product boasts having 45 ingredients, how potent can any of those ingredients truly be? The answer: not very. And that’s why we at BellaVita believe that fewer ingredients are more effective. By keeping our formulas simple, we’re able to pack in powerful, effective ingredients at concentrations that matter.
